Sara Hassan Khani is an Iranian-born multidisciplinary artist and art educator based in Long Beach, California. She earned an MFA from California State University, Long Beach, and a BFA from the University of Tehran, Iran. Working across drawing, painting, and printmaking, her practice stages the image-making process as a contested space where domesticity, bodily presence, memory, privacy, and social hierarchy are layered, destabilized, and reimagined.
Hassan Khani’s work has been exhibited at venues including the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art, Saray Art Gallery, Brea City Art Gallery, and the Kleefeld Contemporary Museum. She currently works from her studio at the Icehouse Arts Complex in Long Beach, serves as a curatorial member of Monte Vista Projects in Los Angeles, and teaches as a lecturer at California State University, Long Beach.
